Time for a comeback!

Hello strangers!
I'm just popping by as I haven't been here for so long and as I'm about to leave to tour for a month I thought this was a perfect time to leave you with some recent outfit pictures so you can see what amazing deisgners I have been wearing recently....

1) THE EU ALBUM COVER - this is the official new album cover for Europe only...

AND for our newest video:

I first heard about the designer, Alexandra Hippy Poppins at a gig last year at Bush Hall when I met a group of colourful girls who said ' you have to let our friend make something for you' so I got them to write her name across my arm and woke up the next morning with the imprint on my face so I knew this was fate lending a hand! The next London gig I met the beautiful and wonderfully extravagant Alexandra and I knew she would create something incredible and very 'me' so we agreed to collaborate on a costume for the next London show... and so 'Gabby In Wonderland' was born and it's a beauty!!

A session at Studio in Redlands, California. Photo by Buzz Saw
Alexandra is very talented and made the whole kitten kaboodle- the dress, shoulder piece, headpiece and tutu in very little time. I can't wait to see what she cooks up next... I'm thinking festival outfits... oh yes!! ;)

I was on the look out for new designers to work with the beginning of this year and I came across Alissia Couture and fell in love with her style and portfolio so when we started chatting on twitter I was so excited! Soon we were sharing pinterest boards and getting completely carried away with the wonderful things she wanted to make and I wanted to wear- in fact we were so in sync and both South West girls I thought it might be too good to be true... but luckily it wasn't!
Here is the first of her creations that I got to wear for the milestone gig- SXSW official show a few weeks ago in Austin, Texas:

Here are some photos from the designer so you can see the details:

I'm a very lucky girl to get to wear all these amazing things! Thankyou to all the designers that have allowed me to show off their talents - it's an honour!

Next time I want to do a blog dedicated to all the amazing headpieces Deb Fanning has made for me recently - I keep recieving packages with stunning things in them and want to show them all off to you but I want to do a special little photoshoot in them first! ;)

Love and lots of exclamation marks!!!

What Am I Wearing? II

Hello to the ones that actually read this (mum!) ;)

I have to admit I have considered stopping this blog - I just don't have the time or content to be consistent! Sorry about that...

Then I keep thinking about the designers I want to show off and the photos I want to reveal of me all dressed up so I'm not going to stop it but when I actually post here will be totally random and maybe few and far between!!

So the reason I am here today is to share some photos from our latest gig and the clothes I wore so here is What Am I Wearing? PART II...

Hat and Fringed leotard from this amazing vintage shop in Charlottesville, USA
Custom made tutu by Sofia Kalaitzidi

I'm really happy with this look as the night before I was pulling my hair and my wardrobe out trying to find something special to wear for my birthday gig and now my hair is shorter I can get away with wearing more red!

Love and a fresh loaf of bread (which I just cooked my first one of!!)

What Am I Wearing?

Good evening blogdivas!!
So... I have 2 blogs, which seemed like a good idea at the time but as I get busier and have less time to blog it's become quite hard to fit one, let alone two in... so what do I do?! I love both my blogs- one is about DIY, doing things in the garden and house and the other is this, fashion one, so I can't really combine them and I don't want to lose either...
Instead I have decided to make this blog less wordy and more picture-y so starting from now I am going to blog my outfits... what I am wearing! I'm sure some words will sneak in (they always do) but here goes... :)

Howdy blogettes!
So April was spent in raincoats and pajamas and not very stylish at all but I did have two very trendsetting bits of news that I would like to take the opportunity to scream excitedly about!

First up I was in VOGUE INDIA! Remember this post when I talked about being a model for a day - well it was for the amazing Kundalini Arts who I truly adore and keep coming up with stunning designs and ideas (like my new album cover!!) I was lucky enough to model there new silk scarf collection and it was shown in Vogue India! Eek!

Here's some other shots from the shoot that I haven't shown you yet:

Shades - Retro Super Future
Wig - Annabelles Wigs

The team were truly fantastic - Jen Dodson doing hair and makeup, Emma Crosby styling, Anushka Menon's genius behind the camera and of course the wonderful Kundalini boys themselves. I loved being a part of this project and wish them every success in their imminent move to India!

Also Spindle magazine published this: :)

Jacket - Alice Palmer, Ring - Imogen Belfield
Then I found out I was in my favourite free magazine- The Stylist...
I am sooo honoured to be on that list, really blown away by it all!

So now Katie and I are plotting a grand ole summer wardrobe for the festivals we have booked and I'm deciding what to wear for this...

Any ideas of what/who to wear... do let me know!

I also did a course on how to use my sewing machine and was very excited to see a groupon for a dressmaking lesson with the brilliant Prangsta costumiers (who I wore in this video) so I will be showing you some of my own creations soon... hopefully!

I'm off on holiday for the first time in 5 years tomorrow- I'm pretty terrified as I'm not a fan of being away from work but at least I get to bring out the summer dresses in sunny Nice and I admit that I'm quite excited about that!

Take care chickens!
Lots of love and bobbins,

Hello blogettes!
So, I haven't had a chance to keep you up to date in ages- I'm sorry about that. I had a few great days at London Fashion Week but then I got struck by the lurgy after the 3rd day and had to miss some shows I had been really looking forward to, especially my favourite designer, Inbar Spector - booooo! I watched it from my sick bed live online which at least meant I got to see her collection, and yes it was stunning as usual.
Taken from her website.
I was lucky enough (thanks to my partner in crime Katie Antoniou for getting me tickets!) to see some real gems which I reported HERE for The Kentishtowner and also I loved Ada Zandition's fashion film, Spijkers En Spijkers catwalk -lots of colour and great shapes and Pam Hogg was definitely entertaining!

Me, Akeela, Naomi Thompson, Emma Block by
I snuck away from the hustle of central London to go to my friend Naomi Thompson's (from Vintage Secret - who you can see dressing me here) book launch which was so much fun - so many lovely people and I got my hair done for free... oh but she did burn my head... I didn't have the heart to tell her!! Anyway, I LOVE the book. It's on my wishlist for when I have the money or get given it (well it is my birthday coming up soon!!) ;)

Jeffrey and I (in a vintage maxi dress from Charlottesville)
My highlight was my good friend Jeffrey Michael blew us all a way with a lovely social exhibition style event showcasing his incredible debut collection which features a beautiful peach, short, feathered dress that I was lucky enough to be one of the first to wear in my new music video...

That brings me on very nicely to unveiling the masterpiece that is OUR NEW MUSIC VIDEO. Put together by the sensational LoveLove Films team - you basically spend 3mins inside my head and you get to choose the ending! I am so happy with it and especially as I finally get to play you some NEW MUSIC as this is the upcoming single from our new album - The Band Called Out For More -
ENJOY and please pass it on!

If you think this is interactive just you wait for the 'GAME' version coming out very soon - watch this space!

I can also now present the album cover which is quite exciting as I've had it under my hat for ages!!

Isn't it pretty?!

I have had a really lovely few weeks actually - so great to catch up and spend time with so many lovely bloggers at LFW and I wanted to point you in the direction of their blogs as they are all great:

Hobbes and I are loving the nice weather - I have started gardening again, been spending hours on the heath and spring cleaning (as well as playing gigs, shooting the video and lots and lots of 'planning' meetings!) I wanted to share a picture of Hobbes basking in the sun in his new favourite spot - on top of the washing basket!!!

Here's to many more days in the sun.

I will start 2012 with an apology - I have been badly neglecting my blogging duties.
I have been busy, I promise, and you know how Christmas takes over everything (especially for me aka Mrs.Christmas as my friends call me!) from about November.

So now I don't know where to start... or end for that matter!

I want to tell you about the tours, appearences, goodies I've gathered but it will take so much time and I don't want to bore you so instead I'll give you the rest of the 2011 in pictures and the odd video ending with us headlining and curating New Year's Eve at the almighty Royal Festival Hall - what a way to end the year/ start the new one!

Was the month of my favourite show to date - KOKO
Here's two videos by Fashot TV of the leadup to the gig:

The first half I wore a dress made specially for the event by Sam Cook aka Darkest Star which is so unique. I adore it and am incredibly grateful and honoured for all Sam's hard work.

The second dress was fresh from Inbar Spector's latest collection -lucky me!!

We had a BIG band that night! Photo by Saul

It was PACKED and the audience blew me away! Photo by Gem Hall

We were joined by dancers, aerialists, brass band, Songlines Choir and Carnival Collective samba band. Photo by Gem Hall
For one day only little ole me was a real model...
I did a wonderful fashion shoot for the lovely Kundalini Arts who design stunning scarves that I am a big fan of. The photographer was a real pro and I loved working with her and what she got out of me. Emma Crosby styled the shoot and Jeni Dodson did the hair and makeup- what a great team. I had a lovely day and am so happy with the shots- more coming soon!

To get an idea of what might be coming up here are some behind the scenes pics -

Wig by Annabelles Wigs

Next up was a big show at Royal Festival Hall supporting the mad Emir Kusturica & The No Smoking Orchestra. I am in a gorgeous dress by Alice Palmer and hair accessories by Now Voyager:

This was a busy month and I didn't have time to take many pictures but we started the month releasing a Christmas single:

Then it was CHRIIIISSSSSTMAAAAS! I had a lovely family one - lots of food, games, good company, movies and lovely presents!!
My dad blew us away by getting all his daughters a very special first edition book by A.A.Milne (it's been an hard year for him as he had a major health scare and operation but he has come out the other end in amazing form and better than he has been in decades so it was emotional Christmas for him). Mum did an incredible portrait of Hobbes for Stephen and I which she got framed beautifully too.

Judy Young is available for commissions by the way.... ;)

Everyone was very generous this year and Stephen really spoilt me with a sewing machine, wooden stamps, a beautiful silk collar (that I wore on NYE), jewellery and the whole Harry Potter DVD Collection! YES!

Then to top off a brilliant, busy year we finished 2011 at the Royal Festival Hall surrounded by family and friends. The perfect end to a pretty perfect year.

Me and the family watching the fireworks from RFH! I'm wearing the silk collar I got for Christmas and Annabelles Wigs.
My brother and I. I'm 'in disguise' in a dress from Vintage Secret and another of Annabelles Wigs.
PS. The theme was Hollywood Glamour!

I might add some pictures of our gigs that night when they come through so check back in a few days too!

So... 2012... it will be another busy year and a lot of change for me - new team, new album coming, new songs to perform, new designers to wear and support and hopefully lots of lovely new people to meet along the way.

I hope you all had a lovely holidays and are ready and excited for the new year.
Oodles of love and fireworks,

avandia recall
